Dr. Michael Murphy, MD

Dr. Michael Murphy M.D. attended the University of Texas College of Pharmacy and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. After medical school, he completed an internship in internal medicine and then a residency in anesthesiology where he served as chief resident for the Audie L. Murphy Memorial VA Hospital and the Bexar County Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. During his 30 plus years of private practice in pain medicine, he founded, operated and eventually sold multiple different health care related ventures. These include multiple ambulatory surgical centers, doing over 45,000 cases per year, 2 large surgical hospitals, an 80,000-square foot medical office campus, an imaging center, physical therapy center and a large medical laboratory. In addition to the medical ventures, he also helped found The Bank of San Antonio where he currently sits on the Board of Directors as well as a registered independent investment company. Dr. Murphy also spoke nationally for Medtronic Neurological and was their keynote speaker for their national sales conference. He has also taught physician practice management seminars across the country for many years. In addition, Dr. Murphy was the founder and Chairman of the Board of what is now one of the largest independent medical groups (anesthesiology) in the country.

Dr. Murphy has established himself as a serial entrepreneur and angel investor. He is also an active member of a group from all over the country that meets to discuss ways to give back to our communities and the world.

J. Bernard Rice

Mr. Rice is recognized as one of the world’s leading experts in Information Technology. Mr. Rice has a wealth of enterprise business, experience and significant senior level relationships that are indispensable in developing many strategic partnerships. His Partner, General Wesley Clark and Mr. Rice are currently driving in a portfolio of companies with leadership capabilities in Cybersecurity, Green Energy, Medical technologies, Education and Real estate. Mr. Rice began his career with IBM in sales and held various sales leadership positions until 1983 when he entered IBM's finance fraternity. Mr. Rice's work in business case structure and portfolio analysis led him to a role as IBM's Finance Director for Application Software in 1985. He was promoted several times such that by 1989 he was appointed Director of Finance, Planning and Administration for IBM's Southern Area. In that role, Mr. Rice was responsible for the staff functions of a $3 billion business and he was instrumental in positioning IBM's Southeast Region as the leader in billable services.

Mr. Rice became Chief Financial Officer and General Partner for the IBM Venture Capital Group in 1993 and then Vice President of Business development for IBM's Consumer Division in 1998. There he managed projects like IBM's partnership with Berkshire Hathaway and Hallmark for the development of its breakthrough on-line research and learning platforms. Mr. Rice also served as Chief Executive Officer of Edmark Inc., the IBM subsidiary that developed innovative educational software for children. In 2000 Mr. Rice orchestrated the spin-off of IBM's education content assets into Riverdeep Inc and was instrumental in Riverdeep becoming the fastest growing educational software company in the nation. Today, Riverdeep has educational products in some 45,000 schools in over 20 countries.Mr. Rice holds a B.A. from St. Anselm College (Manchester, New Hampshire) and a Masters in Business Administration in Marketing from Georgia State University. Mr. Rice also attended the IBM Presidents Program (a special Executive MBA program) at Harvard University.

James E. Tykoliz

Jim Tykoliz is an experienced entrepreneur and an online business pioneer. As the co-founder of DC Netcast Media Group Inc., he leveraged his expertise in digital marketing, online sales and emerging technologies to build, grow and manage profitable businesses across diverse industries. With over 27 years of experience, Jim is a skillful negotiator, maximizing resources and profitability in every project and acquisition. As an early innovator in the dotcom industry, Jim has kept pace with digital and technological advances, carving out opportunities in new markets.

Jim’s educational background includes degrees in economics and finance from the University of Western Ontario. Beginning his career with A.C. Nielson Market Research, he handled major accounts for key clients, including pharmaceutical and packaged goods firms. During this time, Jim developed his knowledge of predictive data analytics, market analysis and syndicated research services. This foundation has made Jim a leader in data-driven marketing for business operations, online promotions and marketing campaigns.

James Griffiths

Mr. Jim Griffiths is a current member of the Board of Trustees of the Center for Addiction and Mental Health ("CAMH") in Toronto, Jim has a Masters in Business Administration, is a chartered accountant, and has over 30 years of experience in the real estate development/financing industries. He was the Vice President Finance of Genstar Property Corporation and the President of First City Development Corp. He was also President and director of RealFund, Canada's first public Real Estate Investment Trust and Krystal Bond Inc.

During his career, he has had responsibility for real estate asset acquisitions and sales of over $2 billion. In addition he is very experienced in financing real estate and has negotiated and placed real estate loans in an amount exceeding $2.5 billion. Jim was a past director of Pinetree Capital Inc., the Canadian Institute of Public Real Estate Companies and was the Founding Chairman of the Association of Foreign Investors in U.S. Real Estate. He is currently a director of Allied Properties Real Estate Investment Trust, Enssolutions Group Inc., and Champion Partners and is President of KLC Capital Investment Corporation, which provides financial advisory services.

Michael Klipper

Michael Klipper, a formulary chemist, entrepreneur, author, and fundraiser is the Co-Founder of Cannabinoid Science International Corp. (CSI), which functions as a scientific accelerator/incubator for Cannabis related research, development, and commercialization. It's was established to develop precision made Cannabinoid based formulary compounds that can be manufactured world-wide and made available to individuals in need of healing. By collaborating with leading researchers in Biochemistry, Physics, Computer Science (systems biology), and Healthcare Services; CSI is committed to developing scientifically proven treatments, educating regulatory agencies, healthcare professionals, and patients. This will essentially improve quality of life and health outcomes, while championing a paradigm shift in society well being. Michael is a respected member of the International Cannabinoid Research Society (ICRS).

Michael is also championing scientific research for healing with non-Cannabis therapies. Michael is Director of Business Development for Transforming Medicine (, as well as a Founding Board Member of Voices Against Brain Cancer ( (VABC), a 501(c)(3) committed to finding a cure for brain cancer and brain tumors by advancing scientific research and supporting patients, their families and caregivers afflicted with this devastating disease. Since its inception, Michael has held an active role on VABC's Granting Committee and has forged relationships with the leading neuro oncologists, surgeons, and researchers. In 2009, his role expanded to that of Chairman of VABC where under his leadership, millions have been raised to fund scientific research and support programs for the brain cancer community. Michael continues efforts in pioneering brain cancer treatments.

Michael was President & CEO of The Klipper Group, 1996-2013, a family of companies actively involved in formulary chemistry, developing chemical compounds, processes, and metering delivery devices. Under his leadership, the Klipper Group received the prestigious Champion Award from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), highest recognition, for developing Safer Detergents for The Environment. Michael is the co-author of Textile Laundering Technology, a publication recognized as the "bible" for the textile process industry. He was selected by Dr. Lynn Sehulster, Center for Disease Control, for "peer review" of revised "Guidelines for Environmental Infection Control in Health-Care Facilities" published by the CDC (2005). He was also the Principal Investigator in research establishing new process protocols for low temperature chlorine oxidation. Michael is the inventor of BIOZYME enzyme product and process, the Co-inventor of MICRO-OUNCE fluid and metering technology, and the inventor of COOLTERGENT 120, a commercial laundry detergent developed to successfully remove heavily soiled textiles at 120°F. Michael is a Graduate of Farleigh Dickenson University.

Kristin Taylor

Kristin Taylor is a technology industry thought leader and marketing strategist who has spent 20 years developing trusted executive-level relationships across the global technology community. Her career has been marked by marketing innovation and ideas that resulted in expanded revenue streams for her employers, ranging from the design of an industry analyst database used to map complex strategic industry relationships to the conception and development of a new hardware product that served as the catalyst for a Fortune 200 to enter and compete in the computing market. Kristin was formerly the Vice President of Global Analyst Relations for MediaTek, a $30B global leader in the semiconductor industry, where she has identified new partnerships and built relationships as part of the marketing effort to build out the analyst relation function. In this role she interacts with a range of industry leaders across Europe, Asia, and the US representing media, capital markets, analysts, and corporate executives at all levels in order to determine trends and inform strategy decisions for MediaTek leadership.

Prior to joining MediaTek, Kristin spent 13 years with Qualcomm where she created the concept and led development for the new Gobi product line which was incorporated into over 300 product offerings and spurred the creation of Qualcomm’s computing division. This drove stock price for four consecutive quarters and led to the company’s first substantial diversification beyond mobile phones. After the success of Gobi, Kristin was tasked by the CEO to present on her process to replicate the outcome. Kristin regularly speaks at universities to students enrolled in journalism, communications, and marketing programs. She is active in several professional and charitable organizations including Watermark Silicon Valley, Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles Vision Center, and Doctors Offering Charitable Solutions (DOCS). She enjoys horseback riding, international travel, interior design, and collecting antiques and art. Kristin earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire.
